I have always had a keen interest in learning more about myself, human nature, relationships, methaphysics, and spirituality. I have been on my own healing journey resulting from dysfunctional childhood and unhealthy relationships. Furthermore, I have done individual therapy in the past and my therapist inspired me to become a therapist myself.
After graduating from University of Miami with a degree in marriage and family therapy in 2003 I primarily worked as an outreach therapist at several prominent agencies in Miami and Broward where I worked with a variety of clients from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and assisting them on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, abuse/domestic violence, substance abuse, relationship issues, and many more.
I have always been a proponent of holistic approach, focusing on mind-body-spirit healing modalities. The name of my company "Triglav" actually represents the highest mountain in Slovenia and it has three ("tri") peaks which symbolize mind, body, and spirit. I wanted to expand my practice to include people who are already functioning optimally but need assistance with setting their goals and improving their lives and thus I also obtained a certification as a Professional Life Coach with the Institute of Life Coach Training, which is accredited by the International Coach Federation.
The main difference between therapy and coaching is that while therapy focuses on mental health illnesses and other issues, such as dealing with life stressors, coaching holds people accountable to reach their goals.
My blog is going to focus on discussing relevant topics in therapy and coaching, providing resources, tools, and support to help you create and maintain the life that you always wanted. Please also check my blog for events and speaking engagements.
Best wishes for the New Year 2013.
